The Eternal Flame by John F. Kennedy is a presidential memorial on the site of the tomb of the assassinated President of the United States, John F. Kennedy. Kennedy at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier serves as a symbolic tomb for all war dead whose remains have not been found or identified.

The tomb began with an unknown service member from World War I, and today it is the tomb of three unidentified service members. Its meaning has evolved to represent the memory of all military members throughout American history.

Arlington National Cemetery Memorial Amphitheatre was inaugurated on May 15, 1920. Although Memorial Day ceremonies are held all over the United States, many consider the services at the Memorial Amphitheatre as the official nation's ceremony in honor of members of the American service. The President of the United States traditionally makes a speech during Memorial Day ceremonies at the amphitheater.

Arlington House, built between 1802 and 1818, was the country's first memorial to George Washington.
